We create new ways to detect pathogens and human diseases by harnessing and engineering biology. We strive to understand molecular mechanisms of biological sensing by taking an interdisciplinary approach that combines biophysics,bottom-up reconstitution of cell membrane, advanced imaging, and high-throughput analyses. We take biology’s solution and build molecular and cellular sensors that can be used in clinics as well as point-of-care settings.
